Congratulations to Trong Gia Nguyen and Tran Van Thao on their appointment to the jury panel of the 4th UOB Painting of the Year Vietnam 2026, one of Southeast Asia’s longest-running and most established art competitions.
First launched in Singapore in 1982 and introduced in Vietnam in 2023, the UOB Painting of the Year has played a significant role in supporting generations of artists across the region through exhibitions, awards, regional exchange, and professional development opportunities. The competition currently spans Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, and has supported more than 1,100 artists throughout its 45-year history.
As members of the 2026 jury panel, both artists contribute longstanding and influential perspectives within Vietnam’s contemporary art landscape. Trong Gia Nguyen serves as Head Judge alongside juror Tran Van Thao, joining Dr. Bridget Tracy Tan in evaluating submissions from artists across the country.
