12 Women

Do Hoang Tuong
Do Hoang Tuong (b.1960, Quang Nam, Vietnam) is considered one of the key figures of abstract painting in Southern Vietnam during the 1990s. After his final abstract exhibition in 2000, the artist returned to figurative painting, developing a distinctive visual language marked by distorted and contorted human forms that reflect psychological tension, vulnerability and transformation.

12 Women marks an important moment in the artist’s practice, exploring themes of emotional conflict, desire and inner instability through expressive figurative compositions.

The catalogue accompanies Do Hoang Tuong: 12 Women, presented at Galerie Quynh, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from March to April 2007.
