Blackboard marks an important shift in Nguyen Trung’s practice toward minimalism and monochromatic abstraction. Through restrained palettes, layered textures and rhythmic markings, the series reflects the artist’s exploration of memory, language and contemporary visual culture.
Presented as a solo exhibition at Galerie Quynh in 2005, the works evoke both poetic recollections of childhood and the structured systems of modern life, where geometric forms and cascading texts resemble matrices of information and coded data.
