Tuan Andrew Nguyen explores the power of memory and its potential to act as a form of political resistance. His practice is fueled by research and a commitment to communities that have faced traumas caused by colonialism, war, and displacement.
In Will Thurman’s paintings, the canvas serves as a chaotic storyboard populated with hybrid characters where narratives intertwine. Using a vibrant palette, the artist sends us to a parallel universe that balances humour with darker themes, unveiling the complexity of existence.
Often incorporating practices such as embroidery and silk painting to dissect social, cultural, and political history, Lien Truong investigates the influences that shape contemporary identity and belief systems.
