Pham Minh Hieu
Pham Minh Hieu (b. 1996, Hanoi, Vietnam) holds a BA with Honors in Art Practice from Stanford University. He ponders the complex of contemporaneity, speculates withdrawn realities and creates dwellings which he calls ‘total installation of art,’ where things gather and unfold across scales.
In 2024, Pham Minh Hieu represented the first Vietnam Pavilion at the 15th Gwangju Biennale. The same year, he was part of the curatorial team behind Hanoi Children's Palace: Nostalgia for the Future, one of the key exhibitions of the Hanoi Festival of Creative Design.
Notable exhibitions include The Foliage V – The Touch of Science, Vincom Center for Contemporary Art (VCCA), Hanoi, Vietnam; Vietnam Pavilion: The Laboratory for Experimental (Meta)physics (Room 5), 15th Gwangju Biennale, Gwangju, South Korea; Untitled (7 Events), Galerie Quynh, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Fractured Times, The Outpost Art Organisation, Hanoi, Vietnam; Phạm Minh Hiếu: Như thể là (Quasi), AGOhub, Hanoi, Vietnam; and Ở đây & Bây giờ (Here & Now), 93 Dinh Tien Hoang, Hanoi, Vietnam. In 2021, he received the John Shively Fowler Award in Photography at Stanford University. He is based in Hanoi.
